Wood chips normally need crushing before pelletizing, and high-moisture raw materials normally need drying. When the material is properly prepared, the same project may use a sawdust pellet machine, biomass pellet machine and wood pellet production line configuration according to the buyer’s goal.
Moisture is one of the key factors for stable pellet forming. Too wet material may cause blockage or soft pellets. Too dry material may reduce the pellet forming rate. A dryer may be needed when raw material moisture is high. The final suitable moisture range depends on material type, machine configuration and the complete process design.
A broyeur à marteaux is used when raw material size is too large for pelletizing. A sécheur rotatif may be needed when moisture is too high.
