Raw Materials for Wood Pellet Production

TCPEL wood pellet machines can process prepared sawdust, crushed wood chips, wood shavings and selected biomass materials. Wood chips normally need crushing before pelletizing, and high-moisture raw materials normally need drying. When the material is properly prepared, the same project may use a sawdust pellet machine, biomass pellet machine and wood pellet production line configuration according to the buyer’s goal.

Moisture Control Before Making Wood Pellets

Moisture is one of the key factors for stable pellet forming. Too wet material may cause blockage or soft pellets. Too dry material may reduce the pellet forming rate. A dryer may be needed when raw material moisture is high. The final suitable moisture range depends on material type, machine configuration and the complete process design.

Do You Need a Hammer Mill or Dryer?

A broyeur à marteaux is used when raw material size is too large for pelletizing. A sécheur rotatif may be needed when moisture is too high. After pelletizing, a refroidisseur de granulés helps cool and harden the pellets before screening and packing. A complete line normally includes crushing, drying, pelletizing, cooling, screening and packing.

How to Choose Wood Pellet Machine Capacity

Capacity should be selected according to raw material type, moisture, target pellet diameter, daily working hours, available power and whether the customer needs a single machine or a complete line. A 1 t/h project is different from a 2-3 t/h line or a 4-6 t/h project, especially when drying, cooling and packing are included. Do not assume every single machine can reach 6 t/h; larger outputs may require a higher model, complete line configuration or multiple-machine layout.

A single wood pellet machine is suitable when the customer already has crushing, drying, cooling and packing conditions. A complete wood pellet production line is more suitable when the buyer needs the full process from raw material preparation to final packing. Ring Die, Rollers and Spare Parts

Ring die and rollers are common wear parts in a ring die pellet machine. Spare parts can be supplied together with the machine for future maintenance. Die hole size can be customized according to pellet diameter requirements, and regular maintenance affects pellet quality and machine life. Voltage can be customized, such as 380V, 400V or 415V, 50Hz, 3 phase, based on the destination market.
